Michael Trulli, LMT
Michael’s journey toward a career in bodywork began in 2007, with the organic development of his yoga practice. As the benefits of a wellness oriented lifestyle became apparent in his own life, he began to search for a way to share this with others. Set against the backdrop of a harsh economic times, and corporate business models designed to benefit just a very few individuals, the pursuit of an equitable exchange became even more desirable. Michael discovered massage therapy was a wonderful way to channel his natural tendency toward nurturing and empathy into a beneficial experience for practitioner and client alike.
Since graduating from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in 2009, Michael immediately set to work developing his practice through the study of Northern style Thai Massage, Myofascial Release, and Reiki. He is currently working toward becoming a Reiki master, and exploring the benefits of Active Isolated Stretching. As a practitioner, he integrates these techniques to maximize the benefit of each session for his clients.
Michael’s belief is that everyone can benefit from massage in the face of any complication, injury, or phase of life, and that those healing effects reach beyond the physical to encourage the body toward balance on all planes of existence. His clients range in age from the young to the young at heart, and considers himself privileged to learn something from each of them every day, and use this insight to benefit others as best he can.
A visual artist since childhood, Michael holds a bachelors degree from Southern Connecticut State University in studio art with a specification in painting. His visual work has evolved through different phases over the years, but has always retained a strong focus on the human figure. He feels very strongly that his study of the human form in art and on the massage table compliment, influence, and inform one another. His perspective toward bodywork is therefore unique in this regard.
Michael is licensed by the state of CT, nationally certified by the national certification board for therapeutic massage and bodywork(NCBTMB,) and is an insured member of the American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA.)
